Category : General 22 Oct 2010 11:48 AM | Insider News
Last Tuesday, Hewlett-Packard Co. has just revealed the upgraded Web OS, the operating system of Palm. At the same time, the company also unveiled Pal Pre 2 during the same event as well. The updated OS which is called as the HP Web OS 2.0 along with the Palm Pre 2 are just the first products that HP released after they bought the Palm last April. HP purchased Palm for the whopping amount of $1.2 billion.
And needless to say, the Palm Pre 2 will be using the Web OS 2.0 operating system. You can expect the said device to hit the French shelves by Friday. It will be SFR that will be carrying the Palm Pre 2 in France. Unfortunately, those who are in North America still have to wait before they get their hands on the Palm Pre 2.There are still no clear dates as to when they would ship the Palm Pre 2 in United States and Canada. However, according to a statement released by HP, they will be sending out the gadget in the said countries in the “coming months.” And for the users of the first edition of Palm the Pixi, the Palm Pre Plus, and the Pixi Plus, they have to wait for the “coming months” before they can upgrade their current operating software to the Web OS 2.0.
Verizon is so lucky to be the mobile carrier that will carry the latest Palm handset exclusively in United States. But HP has not announced yet which Canadian carrier would endorse their device to the country’s market. There are still so much similarities with the original Palm Pre and the Palm Pre 2 which would run on the 3G networks.
